Eclipse - Oil on Canvas

"Eclissi" (Italian for Eclipse) is a symbolic representation on three different layers or levels of reality : the first one, constituted by the yellow stripe in the forefront ; the second one, made of the row of house; the third one, where four ominous columns hold two tree trunks; and finally the fourth layer in the background where the sun and the moon symbolize a game of pool with two balls on the left and the billiard cue on the right hand side of the painting . The final result is a complex scene reminiscing of the deserted villages in Central America.
